Богоявление в Свиленград - Epiphany in Svilengrad

25-годишният Атанас Димитров спаси кръста на Йордановден в Свиленград. Момчето участва в църковния ритуал за четвърта поредна година, но за пръв път успява да хване християнската светиня. След излизането си от ледените води на Марица Наско пожела на всички здраве, защото било най-необходимо. Много вярващи побързаха да целунат разпятието от ръцете му. Според поверието това носи здраве и късмет през цялата година. Още около 19 смелчаци се хвърлиха след реликвата, сред които бяха и победителите от предходните две години – колоездачът Дамян Костадинов и Веселин Битлиев. Стотици свиленградчани се стекоха край Марица, за да наблюдават ритуала. Литургията бе водена от трима наши свещеници - Константин, Георги и Януарий.

25 years old Atanas Dimitrov managed to bring the holy  cross out of ice cold water of Maritsa river on  Epiphany. 19 young men jumped fealessly into the water to salvage the cross. According to the Bulgarian tradition whoever gets the cross first is going to be blessed with good health and happyness throughout the year.Hundreds of people gathered on the shore to watch the spectacular tradition.
